The original patented laptop sun shade that lets you, and your team, work from coffee shops, co-working spaces, the beach, the pool, your backyard or balcony, airport, airplanes and AirBnBs. SunShader has sold almost $2m of inventory since its inception in 2020 during the global pandemic... when the whole world began working remotely. Although heavily ripped off by factories in China, the likes of which were supported by Amazon, I take pride in coming up with such an original innovation and proactively enabling it to market before others. This journey pulled on many skill-sets, most notably my product design, e-commerce, DTC, GTM, content strategy, branding, PR, Manufacturing and global logistics, selling in 50 countries worldwide.

I had the lightbulb moment using my laptop on a NYC rooftop — laptops are miserable in the sun, so I designed, patented and manufactured the fix, SunShader, and bootstrapped it to 40,000+ units and over $1.7M in sales.
Overview
In 2020, in response to the global WFH trend, I made it my mission to design, patent and manufacture an innovative laptop shade to solve that universal problem: that laptops SUCK outside! THE PROBLEM
WFH has been surging since the Pandemic of 2020, but working alone indoors can harm your motivation and mood. Getting outside is proven to boost your mood and productivity, but laptops SUCK outside. They overheat in minutes of direct sunlight, and the glare from the sun makes your screen hard to see. Meanwhile achieving privacy while working in public is impossible!
THE SOLUTION
Introducing SunShader, a novel patented (Patent US 10,963,010) laptop sun shade that shields your device from the sun, keeping it cool and allowing you to work privately outdoors and in public spaces.
Allowing workers to switch-up their surroundings, working outside, in coffee shops, in co-working spaces, while traveling etc boosts employee satisfaction, happiness, and output!

SunShader Eco - the planet-friendly laptop sun shade
In 2025, I introduced SunShader Eco — a recyclable cardboard, eco-friendly version of our popular SunShader Pro. Printed with eye-catching tropical prints, SunShader Eco was a runaway success.
Made from recycled cardboard, I invented a budget and eco-friendly laptop sun shade that retailed for just $20. We sold 5,000 units in 4 months. Demand far outpaced supply in our first summer selling season. The product used the same innovative TPU clips as the Pro model, but replaced heat-sealed leather with cardboard.
I had great fun designing vibrant, plant-based themes and packaging ensuring the product really jumped out from the shelves. It was sold in gift shops and computer accessories stores around the U.S. as well as at SunShader.com.
B2B Corporate Swag... with Swagger
After a sell-out trade-show in Vegas, I added a new revenue stream: custom-branded SunShaders for B2B Enterprise clients. We even became a Halo Preferred Supplier and were recognized in the Top 10 Best of Show vendors in the PPAI Magazine. Following this success, I streamlined the concept with an interactive 3D design tool on our website to easily allow anyone to upload their own logos and order personalized SunShaders with ease.
How did it begin, and evolve?
Utilizing a powerful Multi Jet Fusion 3D printer, I iterated thousands of clip designs until I arrived at the perfect solution. The soft silicone clips gently attach to the very edge of your laptop screen bezel, so that no pixels are hidden, and flex to any laptop screen thickness.
